An old 1913 photo of nurses outside a small medical building, fades into the modern Childrens Medical Center
Foreground
Children's Medical Center Dallas traces its origins to summer 1913, when a group of nurses organized an open-air clinic on the lawn of the old Parkland Hospital in Dallas. It has been affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center since 1964. In 1967, administrative structures strengthened, and the new campus was opened at its current location. Thousands of UT Southwestern Medical Center students and trainees have walked these halls.

Daniel K. Podolsky, M.D.
President, UT Southwestern Medical Center

Leaders from UT Southwestern and Children’s Health marked a major milestone in the construction of the new Dallas pediatric campus with a “topping out” ceremony celebrating the placement of the final beam atop the hospital’s 12-story structural frame. The ceremony comes two years after work began on one of the largest healthcare construction projects in the country, recognizing patients, families, care teams, community supporters, and construction partners who have helped shape the future campus.
