Every year, more than 795,000 people have a stroke. As one of only ten Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Centers in Texas, UT Southwestern Medical Center is on the leading-edge of diagnosing and treating strokes, giving patients the best possible outcomes. Dr. Ifejika will discuss advances that have been made in recovering from sudden stroke.

  As UT Southwestern's Section Chief of Stroke Rehabilitation, Dr. Ifejika is the only African American woman in the nation to serve with this distinction. Twice honored by the U.S. Congress, she has been named a Super Doctor doctor by Texas Monthly every year since 2018.
