Predicting and Preventing Heart Disease: Insights and Advances From Research at UT Southwestern

Join The Vanguard as we explore advances in heart disease research with James de Lemos, M.D.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. About half of Americans have at lease one of the leading risk factors: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking. But research advances are identifying biomarkers – signs or indicators in the body – that help doctors better understand the health of the heart and blood vessels. Dr. de Lemos will share valuable insights that offer new knowledge and strategies to keep our hearts healthy and reduce the risk of heart-related problems.

The Vanguard event series highlights medical research at UT Southwestern, providing a forum for champions of medical innovation. Registration is limited by invitation. To request an invitation, contact us.
