High levels of cholesterol is the leading cause of heart disease, which is responsible for almost 20% of U.S. deaths according to the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control. Dr. Navar is using big data to look for patterns in how heart disease affects large communities of people to better inform prevention strategies that can help whole populations of people better manage their cholesterol and lead healthier lives.
