Join The Vanguard to see a documentary exploring the perceptions around rare diseases, how rare disease therapies are developed, and most importantly, how we might ease pain for families dealing with rare diseases.
Filmed over seven years, "The Zebra & The Bear" is a documentary film about how a mother’s fierce determination to save her daughter from a devastating ultra-rare disease leads her on a journey to raise millions of dollars and drive the development of a pioneering gene therapy.
UT Southwestern’s own pioneers in gene therapy will answer questions about the film and share their latest progress.
The Vanguard event series highlights medical research at UT Southwestern, providing a forum for champions of medical innovation. Registration is limited by invitation. To request an invitation, contact us.
