Join the President's Research Council for With a Little Help From Their Friends: How Bacteria Promote Viral Infection with Julie Pfeiffer, Ph.D.

Gut bacteria play an important role in human health by helping break down certain complex carbohydrates and dietary fibers that you can’t break down on your own. Surprisingly, recent studies have shown that they also help viruses spread. Dr. Pfeiffer will discuss why parts of our own body facilitate viral replication and explore the impact of her research on understanding viral diseases.
