Carolyn P. Horchow
Women's Health Symposium

Dear Women’s Health Symposium participants:

UT Southwestern’s primary goals are, as always, carrying out our educational, research, and clinical care missions, while ensuring the health and safety of our patients and visitors, faculty and staff, and learners. To this end, we are working around the clock to address the challenges this institution and our North Texas community face as COVID-19 continues to spread.

In an effort to limit exposure and encourage social distancing in the community, we have indefinitely suspended all on-campus events involving more than 25 people. Unfortunately, this means we must cancel the Carolyn P. Horchow Women’s Health Symposium scheduled on March 26.

While we cannot offer the full Symposium, we stand ready to be a resource to you as COVID-19 evolves. We hope you will join us online on March 26 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. for a live webinar update from Dr. Julie Trivedi, Director of Infection Prevention at Clements University Hospital. Following Dr. Trivedi’s presentation, you will have an opportunity to submit any questions you may have. Login information for the webinar will be distributed to Symposium registrants and interested friends next week. If you invited guests to join you at the Symposium, please notify them of these changes. In the meantime, I encourage you to visit the informational page on our website, What to Know About COVID-19.

If you have already registered for the Women’s Health Symposium, we want to offer you the option of a full refund of your registration fee; those wishing to convert their registration fee to a donation to UT Southwestern will receive an acknowledgment letter for tax purposes. Please send an email to giving@utsouthwestern.edu to request a refund or confirm a tax deductible donation by March 31. If we have not heard from you by March 31, a refund will be processed on April 1.

I want to especially recognize the 2020 Symposium Co-Chairs, Cindy Feld and Lydia Novakov, for their dedicated leadership and understanding of the complex circumstances we are all contending with at this time.

Please know that the Medical Center remains deeply grateful for your longstanding interest and engagement in the Women’s Health Symposium, and we look forward to bringing it back next year.

Be safe and be well.

Daniel K. Podolsky, M.D.
President
